Urs Blöchlinger, an outstanding Swiss saxophonist and composer, died in 1995 at the age of 41. This CD is an attempt to take a fresh look at the rich and varied compositional work of saxophonist and composer He was an extremely versatile, imaginative and intelligent composer who left behind a great body of work which always combined aspects of improvisation with compositional structures. Blessed with scarily quick wits, pretty much a genius, uncompromising towards himself, his immediate environment and the here and now in general, he was constantly in search of the new in both life and music.
